Mao Zedong (1893-1976)

The Shikumen building is the residence 01 Mao Zedong when he was working in
Shanghai in 1924. Themed as "Mao Zedong in Shanghai in 1924" il displays the copper
sculpture 01 Mao Zedong` s lamily and many cultural relícs and historie materials.
Another building on NO.63 Anyi Road was the former residence where Mao stayed from
March to July 1920 while he was in Shanghai is now open to the public as well.

Sun Yal-sen (1866-1925)
A pioneer 01 the Old-democratic Revolution in Modern China and
the lounder 01 the Republic China.
The former residence, a modern European-style isolated garden architecture was built
in the early twentieth century. Sun Yat-sen and his wife Soong Ching-ling stayed here
from 1918 to 1925. The articles displayed are mostly originals arranged as by the
memory 01 Soong Ching-líng; the annex is today transformed into an art museum
exhibiting more than 300 pieces of cultural relics, scripts and materials.Most exhibits
are displayed to the public for the fírst time, including the suitcase used by Sun Yat-sen
when he was travelling at home and aboard.

Soong Ching-ling (1893-1981)
One of the leaders of the People`s Republic 01China, and the wile
01 Sun Yat-sen.
The house was built in 1920 and it ís said that a Greek ship-owner entrusted the
Germans with the designing and construction. It is the residence where Soong
Ching-Hng lived for the longest time since she moved here in the spring of 1949 and
until her final days, and also an important place where she was engaged in state affairs.
The original arrangement of the former residence is maintained as i t used to be.

A great writer, thinker and revolutionist of China.
The three-Iayer new-style house was built 01 red bricks and tiles in 1931, and the building
was equipped with new lacilities like gas cooker and bath.lt was the residence where Lu Xun
spent the final days 01 his lile frorn 1933 to 1936. The scenes are restored to what they were
like when Lu Xun was stillliving there, and the precious artides and the writing materials he
used are all showcased.

These new-style Shikurnen architectures respectively invested and built in 1922 and
1928 by Siming Bank, from which zig-zag roof truss, zig-zag gable wall and other
architectural techniques could be clearly seen. With the main lane running from north
to south as the axis, the architectures are separated on both sides. The President` s Villa
is located al the south end, the houses of the bank executives are located in the north,
while the residences of clerks are located in between.
